Between 2009 and 2010, we used to meet with this girl at the same place every morning as we reported to our places of work. We were working in different places so the meeting was on the road.
As usual, I am rarely attracted to random ladies on the road. Sorry to say she was a kawaida lady hence why I was not attracted or even tempted to say hi for the months we met each morning.
One day something happened and we had to talk. I was on the road talking to a friend of mine who was also her colleague. She was passing by and in the disguise of checking on her colleague, she said ‘hi’.
I may not approach random ladies, but if they say ‘hello’ I respond. I received hundreds of these unsolicited greetings from ladies at Kenyatta University.
After the greetings and that I sounded polite, she proceeded to ask why I never said hello to her despite us meeting daily. At the back of my mind I was like: And why didn’t you say hello.
For the conservatives reading this, kindly spare me the traditions. Men should only say hello to ladies they are interested in. Not random ones.
From there we could say hello to each other every time we met.
We proceeded to exchange contacts.
One day we had agreed I visit her after work.
It was around 7PM.
Just before I walked through the gate, her mother went ahead of me.
Because I was not familiar with her residence, I had to call for her to come and pick me at the gate.
Guess what happened with her mother already in the house….
