My mom was thrown out by our dad, we were 6 kids n the youngest was 9mths,bila fare from embu to nai baada ya kupewa lift na lorry ya mizigo,bila ata sweaters ama viatu,not to talk of hunger,mum akaenda kwa small bro yake,that uncle abused our mom the whole nyt,akatupea food akanyima mom,we were young so,we stupidly ate as our mom received insults,she cried the whole nyt empty stomached,tomorrow early in the morning mom akatuamsha,from huruma we trekked with our mom carrying our last born at her back towards murang’a her home,can u imagine the first lift tulipata was around 6:30 pm in a place that mom can’t tell but she says its btwn ruiru n thika!bare foot,hunger,thirst,kuchoka,,,,,by foot,my mom only had 20bob.so,we proceeded n she decided to have a sleep over at her sister’s place a place called Makuyu,from the main road we had to trekk again to our aunt’s home,it was dark,I remember tukivuka mto wenye haukuwa na daraja but this ones made of wood n it wasn’t safe at all coz it had very wide gaps,we never had any torch,our mom was crying ahead of us,we struggled with fear coz we could c some dudus with mysterious sounds,God is merciful we all managed to cross,kufika kwa antie it was around midnyt she n her family had retired to bed,there was no food since she wasn’t aware of our visit,tukalala njaa juu tulikunywa maji tu,keshoye mrg,no one was able to walk,body aches,cracks na kufura miguu,njaa,headaches,antie akaona no,akaanza madharau ati yeye sio redcross na ujue si ati ametupea food,but finally akaambia mom watugawanye abaki na watatu mom aende kwao na watatu,,,,,
